John recorded Give Peace A Chance in his Montreal bedroom, with celebrity guests Timothy Leary, Petula Clark, Allen Ginsberg and Phil Spector.

Later in the day John and Yoko were confronted by the cartoonist (and professional heckler) Al Capp, who came into the suite with the express intention of pissing them off. His sole purpose, it seems, was to wind up the couple. Richard DiLello recalled: “In the space of a few short minutes, Capp’s rage at the sight of John and Yoko became evident…”
