Glyn Johns reconvened at Olympic Studios with the ‘Get Back’ session tapes and attempted to mix-down a presentable album. His task was formidable. There were over 530 tape reels and 100 hours of music to sift through (plus another 40 if you include the dialogue as well). In order to pick and choose the songs he wanted, he prepared an acetate of every take that could feasibly make it onto an album. The songs that made this ‘preliminary LP’ were ‘Get Back’ (from the 23rd), ‘I’ve Got A Feeling’ (from the 23rd), ‘Teddy Boy’, ‘On Our Way Home’ (which was the original name for ‘Two Of Us’), ‘Dig A Pony’, ‘I’ve Got A Feeling’ (from the 22nd), ‘The Long And Winding Road’, ‘Let It Be’, ‘Don’t Let Me Down’, ‘Because You’re Sweet And Lonely’ (which was the original name for ‘For You Blue’) …
