Performance at the Star-Club in Hamburg, West Germany, as part of their Star-Club residency.

The Beatles flew back to Hamburg for another two-week stint at The Star-Club. The Beatles were once again very reluctant to go but they had no choice, because it had been arranged before they released the single. George wrote home saying: “I hope you had a good Christmas, or at least better than ours. We only have three more days to go, and then we’ll be away from this place for good (I hope).”

To make matters worse, they weren’t even top of the bill for most of the run, because they had to play second fiddle to Johnny and the Hurricanes. John said: “We didn’t really want to go back. If we had our way, we’d have just copped out on the engagement, because we didn’t feel like we owed them fuck all!” is not affiliated with or approved by The Beatles, Apple, MPL, EMI or Capitol Records.
