Cynthia travelled up to Scotland to give John an ear-bashing, and took Julian straight back home again. This was also the day that Brian Jones (of The Rolling Stones) was found drowned in a swimming pool, aged 27. He’d only announced his departure from the band a month before, so wild rumours started flying around about him being bumped off. John said: “From being brilliant he became the kind of person you dread ringing you up.
