The first day’s filming for ‘A Hard Day’s Night’. It only them took eight weeks to make it. Paul remembered: “We’d get up about five o’clock in the morning. It took some doing. I never thought we would learn our lines. The idea was that we were supposed to learn them the night before, but it never worked out like that. We all read them frantically in the car going down to the studio. It was a bit like school.”

On this first day’s shoot, they were met by one of the schoolgirls on the train – Pattie Boyd. Paul recalled: “It was very exciting… we were met by little girls in gym slips who were actually models, and we were, of course, quite fascinated with them.” She recalled: “I met them and they said, ‘Hello.’ I just couldn’t believe it.
