Work began on editing the movie. Norrie Drummond, a reporter from the NME, was invited along to get a story: “The room was hot and smoky. Long strips of film hung from steel coat racks, and dozens of LPs lay scattered around the floor. Empty coffee cups were dotted everywhere and ashtrays spilled over with cigarette butts.” Pete Shotton recalled: “John was in a particularly good mood that day. He even called out of the window to an elderly drunk we heard singing in the street and invited him to join us. The drunk duly shambled upstairs, bottle in hand, to lead John, Paul, George and Ringo through round after round of old drinking songs such as ‘There’s An Old Mill By The Stream’. He seemed totally oblivious to the identity of his new friends.” is not affiliated with or approved by The Beatles, Apple, MPL, EMI or Capitol Records.
