Performance at the Cavern Club in Liverpool.

There was also a recording session for the TV show ‘Scene At 6.30’ at the Cavern Club. This show was broadcast on 6th November 1963 (Granada). They played Some Other Guy.

The earliest surviving piece of Beatles footage was recorded on this day after Pete Best’s mum bombarded Granada TV with letters. (If she knew that Pete was going to get sacked then she wouldn’t have bothered!) The short black-and-white movie shows them playing ‘Some Other Guy’ at the Cavern, and a voice at the end of the set can be heard shouting, “We want Pete!”

After the television broadcast Brian bought it off them for an undisclosed sum and pressed up four copies. One of these copies was later sold at Sotheby’s for over a grand.
