The Boston radio station, WBCN, excitedly announced that they had an early copy of “the new Beatles album”, when, in actual fact, all they had was Glyn Johns’ rough acetates for the ‘Get Back’ LP. A short time later, another radio station got hold of his mock-up album, and bootlegs began circulating all over America. Meanwhile, the real release date for ‘Get Back’ was pushed back to the end of December, in order to avoid a clash with ‘Abbey Road’.

Things then took an unexpected twist, because Allen Klein told the Beatles that they’d make a lot more money in the long run if the television show was replaced with a ‘Get Back’ movie.
