Recording session at EMI Studios No. 3 (19:00–03:45) during which they recorded Magical Mystery Tour.

The first session for what was to become the ‘Magical Mystery Tour’ EP. The Beatles had developed a brand new way of working by now. Instead of writing the songs at home and coming in to record them, they’d work most of it out in the studio, and rehearse it before committing it to tape. (And because EMI owned the studio, they didn’t have to pay any session fees.) So that meant that any Beatle who wrote a song had to cajole the others into playing it (which isn’t easy when the song’s shit!). None of the others were particularly keen on the ‘Magical Mystery Tour’ idea anyway, and after a couple of half-hearted sessions they forgot about it for four months. is not affiliated with or approved by The Beatles, Apple, MPL, EMI or Capitol Records.
