John and Yoko’s ‘bed-in’ at the Amsterdam Hilton, in room 902 (now called the ‘John and Yoko Suite’). All of this was immortalised in the song ‘The Ballad Of John And Yoko’ where he says “talking in our beds for a week… just trying to get us some peace.” They invited every radio station, every TV show and every reporter into bed with them… not your normal kind of honeymoon!

With the ‘Two Virgins’ cover still fresh in everybody’s mind, the press initially assumed that they’d be making love for the cameras. The local paper said: “Vice squad police have been taking a close interest in the honeymoon ‘love-in’ announced by Beatle John Lennon and his bride Yoko Ono.
