Paul, George and Ringo went on a two-week holiday to Tenerife, but John and Brian went to Spain together, which started off the famous gay rumour. “Cyn was having a baby,” he said, “and the holiday was planned, and I wasn’t going to break the holiday for a baby and that’s what a ‘bastard’ I was. So I just went on holiday. It was enjoyable, but there were big rumours in Liverpool, it was terrible.
