Performance at the Kaiserkeller in Hamburg, West Germany, as part of their Kaiserkeller residency.

While Paul and Pete were packing their bags in the dingy, windowless Bambi, they nailed a couple of condoms to the wall and set them alight (as you do), to get a bit of light. Pete said: “The condoms spluttered and flickered and gave a vile smell, but at least we had a little light. By the time we made our exit through the pit of the cinema the condoms had almost burnt out, having scorched and singed some of the rotting material on the wall.” But when Koschmeider saw the black marks on his beloved dungeon, he went mental and had them arrested for arson! Paul recalled: “We accepted the manager’s offer to play at The Top Ten Club. And naturally the manager of the Kaiserkeller didn’t like it. One night prior to leaving his place, we accidentally singed a bit of cord on an old stone …
