Brian invited the Beatles round to his office to discuss a possible management deal. This was the first time that they had ever been involved in something serious like this (because Allan Williams’ stint didn’t really count) so they brought Bob Wooler along for moral support. “They told me that Brian wanted to see them with a view to managing them,” he said, “but they were very dubious. People had said to them over the years, ‘I will manage you and do this, that and the other’, and it was all promises, promises.
