Recording session at EMI Studios No. 2 (17:30–21:30) during which they recorded You’ll Know What To Do, It’s For You, No Reply, Any Time At All and Things We Said Today.

Ringo collapsed during a photo shoot, and was taken to hospital suffering from tonsillitis and pharyngitis. The doctors reported a temperature of 103 degrees, and promptly pulled him out of the world tour. This immediately set everyone running around like headless chickens, because they were supposed to be leaving in the morning! George decided that if Ringo wasn’t going, then neither was he. But Brian managed to bully him into it. Tony Barrow recalled: “It was a very last-minute decision. Frankly, I didn’t think the tour would happen. It was a multi-million dollar money-spinner, and Brian saw it as the lesser of two evils. Cancel the tour and upset the fans, or continue and upset The Beatles.”
