Performance at the Convention Hall in Atlantic City, USA, attended by 18,000 people, as part of their First American Tour. They played Twist And Shout, You Can’t Do That, All My Loving, She Loves You, Things We Said Today, Roll Over Beethoven, Can’t Buy Me Love, If I Fell, I Want To Hold Your Hand, Boys, A Hard Day’s Night and Long Tall Sally.

Whilst waiting for The Beatles to appear out of an elevator, one reporter, called Peter Woods, decided to cable his piece to the BBC: “I’ve never seen anything like this,” he said. “We’re surrounded by Beatles’ fans! Beatlemania is guzzling around the place. You can’t sleep at night because of the screaming. We’ve been asked by children to get them into the hotel as if they were my children. My own children, Susan and Guy, have been touched by fans in case they have been touched by The Beatles. There are strange men creeping around the hotel. You can’t get on the eighth floor because it is completely sealed off. The swimming pool was also sealed off today, and this is what it’s like staying in the same hotel as The Beatles. All in all, they’ve pretty much ruined my few day’s rest …
