Performance at the Prince of Wales Theatre in London. They played From Me To You, She Loves You, Till There Was You and Twist And Shout.

There was also a recording session for the radio show ‘The Royal Variety Performance’ This show was transmitted on 10th November (BBC Light Programme).

A further session for ‘The Royal Variety Performance’ took place later in the day at the Prince of Wales Theatre. This show was broadcast on 10th November (ATV). They played From Me To You, She Loves You, Till There Was You and Twist And Shout.

The Royal Variety Performance in the presence of the Queen Mother and Princess Margaret (the Queen couldn’t make it because she was pregnant with Prince Andrew). They were the seventh act on a nineteen act bill alongside Max Bygraves, Harry Secombe, Tommy Steele, Marlene Dietrich, Buddy Greco, Eric Sykes, Steptoe & Son, the cast of ‘Sleeping Beauty’, and the top-rated pig act in the country, Pinky and Perky.

Their set started with ‘From Me To You’ behind the curtains to crank up the excitement, before launching into a lively ‘She Loves You’. Paul then introduced ‘Till There Was You’ with the crap gag “And this one’s been covered by our favourite American group – Sophie Tucker” (important note for non-Americans: Sophie Tucker was not a skinny lady).
