The Beatles last-ever show in Liverpool. The papers reported the same day that The Cavern Club was in danger of shutting-up, because the owner had been told by Liverpool City Council that the drainage wasn’t up to scratch, and he’d been quoted over three grand (by some dodgy plumber) to install a new one. An American entrepreneur then stepped in and offered to transport the whole place brick-by-brick to the States, but McFall turned him down, saying, “It was a great offer, but I don’t think he realised that The Cavern Club is a cellar standing underneath three story’s of offices and warehouses!” is not affiliated with or approved by The Beatles, Apple, MPL, EMI or Capitol Records.
