Recording session for the radio show ‘Scene And Heard’ at the Apple Corps This show was transmitted on 15th February (BBC Radio 1) and featured interviews with John Lennon and Yoko Ono.

John’s third solo single ‘Instant Karma’ was released in Britain, backed with Yoko’s ‘Who Has Seen The Wind?’ This was his most successful attempt at a ‘newspaper song’ so far, and he said: “I want records to be more like newspapers… I want them to come out once a week, or twice a week. With this song, we wrote it in the morning, recorded and re-mixed it, and got it out within a week, which was pretty fast moving. I want it to be like that, you know. I want to be able to put it out as it happens. I write songs about what’s happening to me at the moment and I want it to be out at that moment. I don’t care whose name goes on it.”

The most ominous thing about this release for Beatles fans was the credit on the sleeve. Because it had mysteriously changed to “Composed: Lennon” …
