John, Paul and Klein met with the head of EMI to ‘discuss’ their royalties agreement. Sir Joe said: “All right, we can talk about it. Provided both sides get some benefit, there’s no harm in re-negotiating,” to which Klein replied: “No, you don’t understand. you don’t get anything. ‘We’ get more.” Sir Joe was incredulous and had him kicked out the building. “I told them to get out,” he said. “They went away, looking very sheepish.
