George went strolling around San Francisco’s hippy commune pied-piper style, busking ‘Baby, You’re A Rich Man’ to anyone who cared to listen. He remembered “parking our limo a block away to appear the same and walking along the street for about a hundred yards, half like a tourist, and half like a hippie. We were trying to have a look in a few shops. We walked along and they were just saying, ‘Hello,’ and ‘Can I shake your hand?’, and it was nice.” Then a reporter recalled: “A young man was entertaining a crowd of about twenty hippies, and Harrison and his wife listened for a minute, and then Harrison asked, ‘Can I borrow your guitar?’ And the young man said, ‘Sure.’ So Harrison took the guitar and started to play, and played unrecognised for about three minutes.
