Recording session at Twickenham Studios during which they recorded Fools Like Me, Almost Grown and Stand By Me.

Today’s rehearsals proved to be a small step forward, with major work on both ‘Let It Be’ and ‘The Long And Winding Road’. But as soon as George debuted ‘I Me Mine’, it met a predictable flurry of barbs from John (at one point he asked for an accordion and bagpipe back-up!). He quickly excused himself from rehearsals, and went waltzing round the room with Yoko (which made it into the ‘Let It Be’ movie).

Discussion then turned to the show, and Michael Lindsay-Hogg suggested getting on a cruise ship and doing the gig in North Africa. Both John and Paul liked the idea – and even suggested taking some fans with them, and giving away free tickets on the boat.
