Recording session for the radio show ‘Today’ This show was transmitted live (BBC Home Service) and featured interviews with George Harrison and Ringo Starr.

When The Beatles finally limped into Britain, a reporter asked them what they were planning to do next and a miserable-looking George said: “We’re going to have a couple of weeks to recuperate, before we go and get beaten up by the Americans.” The reporter asked him if he’d ever go back to the Philippines, and he replied, “If I do, then it will be with an H-bomb to drop on it. And I intend to tip off The Rolling Stones about the place, because they are due to go there shortly.” John replied: “I wouldn’t even fly over it, let alone land there!” The papers reported that the town council in Manilla had officially banned the sale, display and playing of every single Beatles’ record in halls, restaurants, hotels and cinemas.
