The Manson family murders. Terminal nut-case, and absolute fucking fruit-cake, Charles Manson, went on a two-day killing spree which culminated in the murder of Sharon Tate and her mates. The police initially suspected the Beatles of committing the crimes, because the blood-stained walls cited lines from their lyrics. But luckily, all four of them had perfectly good alibis for the night in question, and were let off scot free.

Manson said that the Beatles “told him to do it”, by passing him messages in their music. Most of the clues lay in ‘Revolution 9’, which, if you’re mad, sounds awfully like ‘Revelations 9’ – the chapter in the Bible that deals with the Apocalypse. It predicts that “Out of the smoke will come locusts”, which clearly meant The Beatles (beatles… locusts… …
