Tuesday, 4th June

Recording session at EMI Studios No. 3 (14:30–01:00) during which they recorded Revolution 1.

Wednesday, 5th June

Recording session at EMI Studios No. 3 (14:30–01:30) during which they recorded Don’t Pass Me By.

Thursday, 6th June

Recording session at EMI Studios No. 2 (14:45–02:45) during which they recorded Don’t Pass Me By.

There was also a recording session for the radio show ‘The Kenny Everett Show’ at the EMI Studios This show was transmitted on 9th June (BBC Radio 1) and featured interviews with John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.

A further session for ‘Release’ took place later in the day. This show was broadcast on 22nd June (BBC2) and featured an interview with John Lennon.

Tuesday, 11th June

Recording session at EMI Studios No. 3 (19:00–22:15) during which they recorded Revolution 9.

A further session took place between 15:30–00:15 in Studio 2 at which they recorded Blackbird.

Saturday, 15th June

With Cynthia on holiday in Italy, John and Yoko stepped out in public for the first time, to plant some ‘peace acorns’ in Coventry Cathedral. The Canon Verney kicked up a bit of a fuss, because he didn’t want an unmarried couple to bury anything in his consecrated ground. But they were stolen by Beatles fans anyway, and the replacements had to be put under armed guard!

Tuesday, 18th June

John and Yoko attended the opening of the West End play ‘In His Own Write’. Richard DiLello reckoned that the press chose this day to launch their sustained attack on John and Yoko.

Wednesday, 19th June

While Cynthia was holidaying in Italy, Roberto Bassanini (the hotel owner) brought her a paper containing pictures of “John Lennon, the Beatle, hand-in-hand with Japanese artist Yoko Ono, attending the opening night of ‘In His Own Write’.

Thursday, 20th June

Recording session at EMI Studios No. 1, 2&3 (19:00–03:30) during which they recorded Revolution 9.

John dispatched Magic Alex to Italy to tell Cynthia to get out of Kenwood. Magic Alex also cruelly informed her that John would shortly be divorcing her for adultery – with himself.

Friday, 21st June

Recording session at EMI Studios No. 2 (14:30–21:00) during which they recorded Revolution 1.

Cynthia arrived home and moved into Ringo’s flat at 34 Montagu Square. “The only way I could get in touch with John was to make an appointment with him through Peter Brown at Apple. And when I finally did meet him,“ she said, “Yoko was there.”

Saturday, 22nd June

Apple bought some bigger offices at 3, Savile Row for half a million quid. It was a beautiful five-story Georgian townhouse, in the heart of London’s Mayfair.

Wednesday, 26th June

Recording session at EMI Studios No. 2 (19:00–03:30) during which they recorded Everybody’s Got Something To Hide Except Me And My Monkey.

Thursday, 27th June

Recording session at EMI Studios No. 2 (17:00–03:45) during which they recorded Everybody’s Got Something To Hide Except Me And My Monkey.

Friday, 28th June

Recording session at EMI Studios No. 2 (19:00–04:30) during which they recorded Good Night.

Sunday, 30th June

Recording session for the TV show ‘Look North’ at the Exhibition Road. This show was broadcast on 1st July (BBC1) and featured an interview with Paul McCartney.
