Released their last UK studio album: ‘Let It Be’, in a box-set with a book. Reviews were decidedly mixed, and the harshest words came from close to home.

Monday, 11th May

Wednesday, 13th May

US premiere of the ‘Let It Be’ movie. None of The Beatles bothered going. Press reviews were downbeat.

Monday, 18th May

Wednesday, 20th May

UK premiere of the ‘Let It Be’ movie. Guests included Spike Milligan, Mary Hopkins, Dick Lester, Sir Joseph Lockwood and Lulu. Cynthia Lennon and Jane Asher also turned up, but none of The Beatles bothered going.

Friday, 22nd May

Workmen renovating John and Yoko’s Tittenhurst mansion had to call out the bomb disposal squad, after finding an unexploded WW2 bomb in the garden.

Tuesday, 26th May

First session for George’s ‘All Things Must Pass’ LP.
