Sometime towards the end of 1956 (date unknown) Rod Davis was asked to play guitar. They also got Len Garry to play the tea-chest bass. The only thing they were missing now was a drummer, and they solved that problem by tempting Colin Hampton. He was already out of school and working down the bakers, so he owned his own Broadway set.

Wednesday, 31st October

Paul’s mum died of breast cancer, aged 47. It hit them pretty hard because she’d only been diagnosed a few weeks previous. A couple of weeks later Paul sat down and wrote his first-ever tune – ‘I Lost My Little Girl’. is not affiliated with or approved by The Beatles, Apple, MPL, EMI or Capitol Records.
