Shabby Road – The Beatles chat forum

Reserve a member name for yourself

CraigThis forum works a little bit differently to all the other forums you’re probably used to. You don’t have to register, for a start – so there’s none of that pesky handing over your email address that everybody hates. But how do you reserve a name for your sole use, so nobody else can use it? Well here is what you have to do:

1)  Have a look on the member list to see if you qualify

Assuming that you’ve been using the same name all along, a little will appear next to it when you’ve accumulated enough points. You only need 50. You have to write at least one song and one record review as well, and have at least ten posts.

2)  Choose a secret password that only you know. A random string of letters and numbers is perfect (at least ten characters long)

3)  Choose a nice background colour, text colour, and border colour for your name

Everybody who reserves their own name gets to choose some colours to make it stand out. My one is red and white, but you can choose whichever colours you like, for example:

The Beatles The Beatles The Beatles The Beatles The Beatles The Beatles

4)  Send me an email with your name, secret password and three colours

I will then set everything up and email you back. All you’ve got to do then, is remember to use your secret password in place of your real name whenever you write a post or a review. It will then magically be transformed into your real name on the forum. If anybody else tries to use your real name then it won’t work – only the person who knows the secret password will be able to post under that name.
