The Beatles -- ‘12 Bar Original’

Take 2 12-Bar Original (2.55)

John Lennon: Lead guitar; Paul McCartney: Piano; George Harrison: Lead guitar; Ringo Starr: Drums; Harmonium: George Martin

The Beatles were never very big on instrumentals, and they only wrote three in their entire career. The only one of these to appear on a studio album was ‘Flying’. The first one was called ‘Cry For A Shadow’ and was recorded at the Tony Sheridan session in 1961. The second was this one – ‘12-Bar Instrumental’.

It was originally aired at the ‘Rubber Soul’ sessions in 1965, but was left to rot in the stores for thirty years. A heavily edited version can be heard on ‘Anthology 2’.
