This was a combination of two different songs – John’s ‘One Of The Beautiful People’ and Paul’s ‘rich-man’ chorus. The rich-man was supposedly Brian Epstein, and legend has it that John sings “Baby you’re a rich fag Jew” towards the end. I’ve probably listened to it about a million times now to check it out, but I can’t hear it.

John could be incredibly cruel towards Brian when he wanted to be. Once, when Brian dared to suggest that Paul’s singing “didn’t quite sound right” John dissed him with a withering reply… “I remember attending a session at EMI,” said Brian. “The Beatles were on the studio floor and I was with their recording manager, George Martin, in the control room.
