The Beatles -- ‘Blue Jay Way’

Blue Jay Way (3.57)

George Harrison: Double-tracked lead vocal, backing vocal, hammond organ; John Lennon: Backing vocal; Paul McCartney: Backing vocal, bass guitar; Ringo Starr: Drums, tambourine; Cello: Unknown player

George wrote this in a rented house down Blue Jay Way, high up in the Hollywood Hills. His friends were supposed to be coming round for dinner and they got lost in the fog.

Some fans chose to believe that the line “please don’t belong” was an instruction for them to drop out of society, but it was actually just George telling his mates not to “be long”.
