The Beatles -- ‘Dont Bother Me’

Don’t Bother Me (2.29)

George Harrison: Double-tracked lead vocal, lead guitar; John Lennon: Rhythm guitar, tambourine; Paul McCartney: Bass guitar, claves; Ringo Starr: Drums, bongos;

This was the very first song that George got on a Beatles record. He’d already done a couple of instrumentals (like ‘Cry For A Shadow’ on the Tony Sheridan EP), but this was the first with words as well.

He wrote it in a Bournemouth hotel. “I was sick in bed,” he said. “Maybe that’s why it turned out to be ‘Don’t Bother Me’.”

It would be another eighteen months before he got another one.
