John wrote this about the Maharishi. John’s friend Magic Alex had heard (made up) some rumours that he was going around propositioning all the women in camp, so they confronted him about it.

“There was this big hullabaloo about him trying to rape Mia Farrow or somebody and trying to get off with a few other woman and things like that,” said John. “So we went to see him after we stayed up all night discussing whether it was true or not. When George started thinking it might be true, I thought, well, it must be true; because if George started thinking it might be true then there must be something in it.”

John felt so cheated about the guru’s behaviour that he was going to call the song ‘Maharishi’ and blatantly tell it like it is, but as time passed he became wary of …
