The Beatles -- ‘Whats The New Mary Jane’

Take 4 What’s The New Mary Jane (6.12)

John Lennon: Lead vocal, double-tracked piano; George Harrison: Backing vocal, double-tracked acoustic guitar; Backing vocal: Yoko Ono; Hand bell: Mal Evans

This very nearly made it onto the ‘White Album’ but it fell at the final hurdle. And if you’ve ever had to listen to it then you’ll know why – because it’s rubbish! The tune (if it can be called that) is quite possibly the worst one that John ever wrote. In fact, it is so bad that it’s giving me a headache just thinking about it.
